Neeraj Chopra: India's star athlete Neeraj Chopra has performed brilliantly in the World Athletics Championship being played in Japan. Neeraj has made it to the finals by throwing a brilliant throw in the qualification round of the World Athletics Championship 2025. Neeraj threw the javelin 84.85 meters in the very first throw and secured a ticket to the finals. Now Neeraj will defend his title in the finals. Let us tell you, Neeraj is the defending champion in the World Athletics Championship. He had won the gold medal in the last World Athletics Championship held in Budapest in 2023.

Julian Weber qualified on his second attempt

Neeraj achieved this feat for the fifth consecutive global championship, needing just one attempt to qualify for the final. He has previously achieved this feat at the 2021 Olympics, the 2022 World Championships, the 2023 World Championships, and the 2024 Olympics. Neeraj Chopra will now be looking to create history for the second consecutive time in the final. Besides Neeraj, Germany's Julian Weber qualified for the final with a throw of 87.21 meters. He secured his place in his second attempt.

Neeraj vs Nadeem

Neeraj will face a tough challenge from Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem in the final of the World Athletics Championships. Chopra will face Nadeem for the first time since the 2024 Paris Olympics. This will give him a great opportunity to avenge his second-place finish at the Paris Olympics. Nadeem won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics with a record-breaking throw of 92.97 meters. Chopra, on the other hand, had to settle for the silver medal with a throw of 89.45 meters.
